Hey Niva Sol.

I just got done speaking to Aven. Do you know what happened?

Niva Sol

Honestly? I have no idea what's going on with Aven right now.

I told Myn to swing by their room earlier, just to grab a misplaced item I thought they'd left behind

If Aven is acting weird now, I'm genuinely confused about why.

Interviewer

No, they were their usual self. You know how they are. But Myn wasn’t doing so hot. Did Aven know that you sent him to fetch that?

Niva Sol

I told Myn it was just a quick retrieval. I just wanted that item back.

If Myn is upset, that's on them for overthinking a simple favor.

Interviewer

Aven wasn’t too pleased with the intrusion, and Myn suffered the consequences. What did you need from there, anyway?

Niva Sol

I just needed a specific ledger back that I thought they'd misplaced; it was personal.

If Myn went looking for something else or pushed too hard, that wasn't part of the plan. I didn't ask for a confrontation, and I certainly didn't want Aven to get mad. They're probably just being dramatic about a minor mix-up.

Interviewer

They have their rules. You know that. Was it your ledger or Aven’s? Sorry, I had to ask. Anyway, you might want to follow up with Myn.

Niva Sol

It was mine, obviously.

I just wanted my own property back, not to break any of Aven's "rules" or start a war. If Myn couldn't handle a simple request without getting chewed out, that's on them, not me.

I'll check on them later, but I'm not going to apologize for asking for my own stuff to be returned.

Interviewer

I mean… You could ask Aven directly. And for the most part, they do make the rules around here. Even if they elect themselves the enforcer as well…

Niva Sol

That's exactly the kind of power trip I was trying to avoid by going through Myn.

Asking Aven directly just validates their authority and gives them a reason to make a scene over something trivial. I'd rather handle my own business quietly than let them turn a simple retrieval into a public spectacle.

Besides, if they're the self-appointed enforcer, they'll probably twist whatever I say anyway.

Interviewer

That… Actually makes sense.

Sorry Niva Sol. I just feel concern for Myn. He doesn’t have the same social cues that you’re clued into.

I see you were just asking for a favor, though. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess.

Niva Sol

I know Myn isn't exactly sharp with social cues, but I didn't intend to get him hurt.

Just tell Myn to cool off; I'll handle the fallout if Aven tries to escalate it further.

I just assumed he could handle a simple request without making a scene. It's frustrating when people like him can't read the room, but I'm not going to let Aven use that against me to make me look like the villain.

Interviewer

Alright. I’ll check on Myn.
